While I was just watching Virgin 1 (a TV channel available with Virgin Media, Sky Digital and Freeview) I saw a "coming soon" for the new Terminator Series.
The brief advert didn't say when the series is being shown….
The new series premiered in the US on Sunday, and is titled "The Sarah Connor Chronicles".
Is this a big scoop for Virgin?
Or have the rivals (Sky One, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc) just not bidded for it on purpose?
If you've seen the first episode in the US, what's your verdict? Has Virgin 1 bought a lead balloon? Or is it a stroke of genius?

I had Virgin Media installed. I couldn't get Sky because I wasn't aloud a dish on the side of my house. But the Virgin Media folks came along in good time and installed my phone, Internet and cable TV.
I would love to say that everything is rosy now and it is as far as my Internet and Phone goes but the TV is rubbish! You would think that they would get the TV part pretty well sorted but this seems to be the one area which really lets Virgin Media down. No Sky One is something I can just about live with but the new Virgin One channel is nowhere near a decent replacement for the channel. Never endless repeats of Star Trek Deep Space Nine are not exactly my choice but I guess you have to start somewhere.
I digress; my real problem is with the way the digital channels are shown on your TV and the Software and Hardware that you are given. The box is unattractive and the remote is terrible. The software you use to navigate between channels is appalling. For instance one of the features I love about Sky is that you can flick between channels easily skipping what seems like instantly from one channel to the next. With Virgin you end up pressing next waiting a few seconds and if you’re lucky the next channel will appear. More than likely though you will probably become so frustrated with waiting that you will have clicked again it then skips more than one channel aarrrggghhh!
It drives me bananas!
So what do you love or hate about Virgin Media?

If you live in an area in the UK that has cable, then the chances are that you have Virgin Media installed.
The question I pose, "Is it any good?"
Compared to the rivals at Sky, what are the pros and cons?
Having a read of the Virgin Media website it seems that under the same umbrella are the groups:
- Virgin Broadband
- Virgin TV
- Virgin Phone
- Virgin Mobile
The slogan says "watch it, surf it, talk it, walk it". But is this really true, does this package represent a significant saving to you as a consumer?
Would you be better off getting a separate package from, lets says for arguments sake:
- Pipex Broadband
- Sky TV
- BT
- and then Orange Mobile?
Is may be cheaper to get the entire Virgin package, it may not….
But is it right for you? I like choice, so is it better to have variety? After all isn't that the spice of life?
So many questions, but what are the right answers? I await your comments, and hopefully discussions on the forums once we've sorted out a few teething issues!!
